I began my journey in the supplement industry back in 2009, driven by a deep frustration with the lack of knowledge and genuine care I encountered at local vitamin and supplement stores. It always seemed like the staff were just there for the paycheck—they often knew little about the products they were selling, and the supplements were expensive, rarely delivering the promised results. After experiencing this for some time, I realized that if I wanted real answers and effective products, I’d have to find them myself.
Determined, I dove into researching supplements, focusing on understanding the ingredients, their benefits, and how they actually worked. Through this process, I gained valuable insights into the various types of supplements available, such as the differences between whey, casein, and plant-based proteins, and the specific benefits each one offers. I also learned about pre-workout supplements, discovering that they generally fall into two categories: high-stim and non-stim. High-stim pre-workouts can contain up to 400 mg of caffeine, while non-stim versions are caffeine-free, catering to different energy needs.
Armed with this knowledge, I started reaching out to supplement brands, exploring the possibility of selling their products. My goal was simple: to offer high-quality supplements at fair prices so that my friends and I could avoid the overpriced and underwhelming offerings at big commercial stores. I initially stocked a few products from a couple of brands, and they quickly sold out among local gym-goers. Encouraged by this success, I expanded my inventory, carrying more brands and products.
During this period, I also became a certified personal trainer and opened my own gym. I began selling supplements directly from my gym, and customers appreciated the fact that I offered name-brand products at reasonable prices. More importantly, they valued the advice and guidance I provided, ensuring they chose the right supplements to achieve their goals.
After six years, I decided to close the gym and focus solely on my supplement store, which featured a wide selection of products from some of the top brands in the industry. My mission was always to educate customers, helping them understand exactly what they were buying and what results they could expect. Unfortunately, after three years of running the store, the COVID-19 pandemic forced me to close the business.
Although I stepped away from the supplement industry for a couple of years, I continued to stay informed about the latest trends, new brands, and emerging ingredients. I also kept a close eye on the rising costs of raw materials, which were driving up prices across the board.
Now, I’m excited to relaunch my business online, where I can continue to offer quality supplements and provide personalized advice to anyone who needs it. Whether through email or phone, I’m here to assist my customers in making informed decisions about their health and fitness goals.
